Mindful Counselling Therapy

  • Yesterday, the Devil whispered in my ear, “You are not strong enough to withstand the storm”. Today, I whisper in the Devil’s ear, “I am the storm”.

  • Raise your words, not voice
It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder

    〜 Rumi
  • Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world Today I am wise, so I am changing myself

About Me

Are you feeling depressed, stressed, alone and unsure about the next step in your life. Do you feel stuck in a relationship that seems to be going nowhere. Are you in an abusive relationship and need some support getting through? Let’s take the first step to a new beginning.

I am Dr. Nassra Khan, and I offer counselling in a confidential, non-judgmental, safe, and friendly environment. I approach therapy with the recognition that people tend to interpret and experience life differently, and thus have different counselling needs. I work with clients to gain a greater understanding of their thoughts and feelings in the present moment bringing clarity to their current situation. My objective is to help clients find more satisfying lives and regain emotional and mental wellbeing.

Moreover, in addition to the extensive experience in working with victims of domestic violence, I have done in-depth work on understanding the extent to which the mainstream domestic violence treatment program responds to the needs of those affected by domestic violence. Hence, I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. I examine the experiences of domestic violence from a psychological perspective, whilst taking into account individual socio-cultural norms, beliefs and values.
I have a doctorate degree in Psychological Studies (PhD). I am a Counselling Therapist and work according to the Ethical Framework of the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta. I am licensed by the Province of Alberta/2687. I am also a Certified Domestic Violence Specialist (CDVS) and a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS).
